I dont know if its just me and the fact i follow lower league football, but i cant no matter how hard i try muster up any enthusiasm about the national side. There is just something about watching England that grates me, and i cant put my finger on it. Perhaps its the over inflated egos and wages?
Anyway i didnt watch the game last night, i traded before kick off as i have been doing lately and nicked a nice profit of £15.53 before kick off, this enabled me to switch the pc off and watch some tv and the welcome return of the apprentice. Where do they find these people? the researchers and panel choosing the contestants are surely overdue a bafta for their services to producing a fine collection of beauts.
Slim pickings tonight in terms of games to trade on, with Salisbury the only inplay game, i will certainly have a dable as im off to Prenton Park tomorrow and it will be my last opportunity to trade this week.

Back to the grind
Back to work yesterday after a nice long weekend and not much to pick from last night in terms of matches to trade. In the end there was only really the U21's available with any kind of liquidity. As mentioned in an earlier post ive been looking into pre match trading as oppossed to my usual first goal trading and last night proved a good example of why i should focus more on this strategy.
About an hour before kick off i managed a back of the the under 2.5 goals market at a price of 2.24 and was happy to leave it without watching what the price did while i made tea. Came back 5 minutes before kick and the price had dropped to 2.19 so i traded out rather than waiting for the game to go inplay as i had a nice green of £12.53 which im more than happy with on a Tuesday night with not much on offer.
I will be looking at the England friendly later so hopefully i'll be reporting a similar trade, i know a lot of comments are made on the betfair forums about lack of discipline and the boredom this kind of trading brings but i have to say im really getting used to this style of trading and i just hope i dont get affected by a compulsion just to lump on anything for the thrill of it.
Anyway good luck with all your bets tonight.

Mixed feelings
A funny day yesterday for me, im glad to report anothers days profit trading on the under 2.5 goals market in the Swansea and Ebbsfleet games. However Tranmere losing away at Bournemouth tempered the mood, not to bleat on too much but we really should be putting teams away in the bottom 4 if we want to make the play offs, and unfortunatley by all accounts we were well and truly 2nd best yesterday.
Anyway thats enough moaning from me, better news on the trading front started with a back of the unders on the Swansea game prior to kick off with an immediate trade out upon going in play to result in a small profit of £8.73. I followed this up with a back of the unders in the Ebbsfleet match about an hour before Ko, the price in this game fell by a few good ticks before the game kicked off and i ended up trading out before ko for a very tidy £18.38.
So my trading day finished with an overall profit of £27.11, which went a long way to making me feel better about the rovers shambles on the south coast.

Is the title over?
Did Man U win the league title yesterday? Its hard to see anything other Man U retaining their title after yesterday results, of course they have still time to lose it but in my opinion the title is theirs to throw away now. It was a cracking days football and i for one didnt expect 6 goals in both premier league battles.
I adopted a slight change in strategy yesterday, i backed the unders before kick off and layed off my liability once in play, im normally one to back after the first goal and lay off as the back price always shoots up after a goal and trading on the price over reaction can be very profitable, however as seasoned traders will know all to well and quick second goal can happen quite often leaving traders stuck!
Perhaps in future i will use a combination of 1st goal trading and trading from the kick off and see how results develop.
Anyway yesterdays prem games returned me a profit of £16.10 both using games using the backing and laying from kick off method, a very decent return and one more in keeping with my usual profit rather than yesterdays total.

Good start
Its nice to report a good start to my trading blog. To be honest it was an unexpected day of trading, i had a day planned out with my girlfriend touring some of Liverpools bars and having a bite to eat but she came down with the sniffles so we eneded up just stopping in slobbing out.
This gave me the opportunity to have a look in on some games.
First off was the Spurs game, i managed a back of the unders at half time at 0-0, this was traded out after 10 or so mins into the 2nd half for a decent £14 return.. i then had a few scalps of the Munich, Blackburn and Newcastle games which resulted in a small loss of about £4. Next up was Everton, after an early goal by the Yak i backed the unders and traded out shortly after for a decent return, and dipped in and out again during the game to result in a very decent £21 profit.
I then turned my attention to the Spanish games and seeing that the Seville price for the unders was a little high in my opinion i backed with most of my bank a good 2 hours before KO, i know going all in is very dodgy indeed but i had every intention of trading most of this off before KO which i did on the price fall, i went inplay with a much reduced liabilty and managed to trade out within seconds of the KO to return £18. This is a strategy i may look more closely at in the future.
So all in all a very good day trading and a nice start to my blog of £50.10 profit on the day.

My first post
Hi and welcome to my blog. OK i know what your thinking, here we go again another trading, betting blog that will last a few weeks then die a death. The reason im doing this is just to get a few things off my chest and for my own sanity really, if people read and enjoy it then great.
Ok first of all let me explain a little about myself, im in my 30's and live in Liverpool, i have a day job working in office with other deadbeats 9 to 5. I love football and support Tranmere Rovers (ok stop laughing now). My other passion/hobby is trading/betting on Betfair, i dont claim to be expert but i do ok (in respect of earning a little beer money).
My strategy on the exchanges is mainly trading on the unders (2.5) market, mostly backing after the first goal and trading off for a little profit (usually completing a trade within 5 mins)
Im also not adverse to backing at short odds late on in games when i can see a game is going a particular way.
My bank currently stands at £1500, im will be looking to withdraw any profit each night, im not looking to hit any targets as such just see how it goes. My risk will be £250 per trade/bet and this will be reviewed periodically.
This is not a blog about striving to earn a living from trading on football (although it would be nice) im realistic and happy earning a few quid to enjoy at the weekend on a few beers.
Anyway thats enough from me, hopefully some of you will enjoy this blog and if not i hope i will.
Thanks for reading
